CLOVER-affiliated Postdoctoral Fellow Min Jee Jang and collaborators have developed a new spatial transcriptomics method for high-throughput, in situ characterization of AAV tropism, called USeqFISH. Using this method they profile pooled engineered AAV capsids and cargoes, finding preferences among molecularly-defined neuronal cell types. They also introduce a new capsid AAV-PHP.Across (PHP.AX) that has relatively unbiased and broad coverage across cell types. See the research briefing and the full story in Nature Biotechnology. Congratulations!
PHP.AX capsid plasmid is now available on Addgene!
