MaCPNS1-enabled chemogenetics in neurons innervating brown fat
January 26, 2026
Former CLOVER Research Scientist Xinhong Chen, in collaboration with the Zeltser lab at Columbia Univerisity, used MaCPNS1 to identify and chemogenetically manipulate distinct subpopulations of sympathetic neurons in the stellate ganglion that innervate intrascapular brown adipose tissue (iBAT) to either affect circulating glucose levels or increase blood flow. Check out the full story in Nature Metabolism! Congrats Xinhong!
